The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety. The Department of Criminal Justice is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service, preparing students for professional services and advanced graduate studies.
Position Overview
The Department of Criminal Justice invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track assistant professor. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in criminal justice. The candidate selected for this position will be expected to engage in high-quality and innovative instruction in both traditional and non-traditional formats. The ideal candidate will carry out a productive research agenda with a concentration in youth and young adult crime and have advanced methodological skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in criminal justice or a related discipline from an accredited institution;
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service;
Evidence showing the ability to establish a strong research record and/or to attract extramural funding.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced quantitative skills;
A research concentration in youth/young adult crime.
