Please do not apply here, apply internally through Workday.If you are NOT a current employee or student, please click "Apply" and complete the application process for external applicants.JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The Laboratory of Dr. Misha Kwasniewski in the College of Agricultural Sciences, Department of Food Science at Penn State (University Park campus) is seeking a temporary, part-time research assistant to support ongoing lab and field research projects related to fermentation sciences, wine chemistry, and grape development.Duties will include:Assist with sample preparation and extractionOperate lab equipment such as a spectrophotometer, HPLC, and GC-MSEnter data using Excel or other programsWork with graduate students and other lab members on ongoing projects as neededSkills:Basic familiarity with chemistry and lab practicesStrong organizational and communication skillsAptitude and interest in learning new methodologyThis job requires some progress toward a B.S. in a STEM related field such as food science or chemistry.The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability in all of its forms.
