Job SummaryThe Director - IT Shared Services is a senior-level management role responsible for leading teams in our Information Technology department focused on Shared Services like Architecture, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Automation, and Agile Practices. The Director of IT – Shared Services has a solid technical background and can manage multiple engineering and technical resources teams. This position will support various functions and requires a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills who enjoys collaborating broadly across business, product, and technology teams with a vision for long-term solutions.

This position is required to report to the SHI Austin, TX office location as determined by SHI management.

ResponsibilitiesInclude, but are not limited to:

The Director of IT - Shared Services will work closely with the Sr. Director of IT Architecture to set the vision, technology and architecture strategy tightly linked to SHI’s business needs and ensure that all Information Technology initiatives are advancing

This role will partner with business teams to provide a capability roadmap, process mapping, program execution guidance, talent development, operational excellence, and strategic execution

Maintain a high level of effectiveness through employee performance management activities while developing next-generation leaders

Contribute to and lead elements of the overall platform strategy and communicate your strategy and vision as you influence across the Enterprise

Create and operationalize new strategies and methods to address changing business needs and best position the team to support the organization

Partner with executives in the business and technology to establish relationships and networks that enable effective collaboration among groups and solicit feedback to build the effectiveness of the team's services

Utilize technical and architecture expertise to create architecture strategies and artifacts, review, provide feedback, and hone solutions produced by the team

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, analytics, or a related field is required

10+ years of experience with architecture, software engineering, design patterns, quality assurance, and development processes

10+ years of experience managing multiple high-performing teams in an IT Organization

Required Skills

Track record of developing strategic technology roadmaps and delivering on timelines and within budget

Ability to manage a complex budget, including building new investment cases and effectively gauging return on investment

Desire to work in a collaborative, open environment on an agile team as a contributor and mentor

Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills

Ability to work with key stakeholders across the organization and seamlessly deliver results

Strong public speaking skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex problems to stakeholders of all levels across multiple functions

A linear, logical thinking style that can break down and solve complex problems

Ability to give and receive constructive criticism

Emotional intelligence, flexible work style, and excellent diplomatic skills across all levels of the organization

Knowledge of all functions and roles within the IT department

Ability to meet deadlines under pressure

Unique Requirements

The position requires 30% travel for business

Additional Information

This position's estimated annual pay range is $180,000- $220,000. Compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401 (k), and flexible spending.
