Job SummaryThe Director, Stewardship represents the Memorial Hermann Foundation across the organization and in the community. The Director provides leadership on planning and executing activities that steward donors - including annual donors, giving society members, major gift donors, corporate and foundation donors along with event donors that expand our relationship. S/he works collaboratively with other Foundation team members and achieves established goals to advance the Foundation's philanthropic support. The Director is responsible for managing the internal framework for the cultivation and stewardship of prospects and donors to maximize philanthropic opportunities.

Bachelor's degree in business or related field required

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:Five or more (5+) years of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or related experienceExperience in healthcare philanthropy is a plusStrong understanding of prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardshipDemonstrated ability to envision, design and evaluate stewardship strategy and implementationEvidence of effectiveness in building and sustaining relationships with donorsGoal oriented with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team; collaborative and congenial work styleHigh proficiency in project management, attention to detail, prioritization of work and organizational skills requiredExcellent communication skills with a high degree of professionalismAbility to work well with a variety of stakeholders and adapt to meet varying needsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to think ahead and lead multiple projects effectivelyProficient in Microsoft Office products. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Works collaboratively with Foundation team members across departments to achieve fundraising goals and deliver results in all assigned areas.Researches and implements an integrated and comprehensive stewardship approach that promotes donor connections at all levels, expanding the Foundation's reach and ability to more easily acquire, renew and upgrade donors.Understands the process of donor development, leveraging existing pipeline to expand the donor base and identify potential major gift donors for further cultivation.Annual stewardship plan will include donor communications designed to fit the interest of the donor, including impact reports for strategic $100,000 plus gifts, custom acknowledgements, targeted notifications and special invitations, welcome packets and annual reports.Conducts routine assessments and provides regular analysis of stewardship activities to best align resources for maximum revenue impact.Manages stewardship program and project budgets across multiple cost centers.Works closely with Philanthropy team to report on the use of gifts, communicate gift impact and celebrate contributions.Provides and presents data analysis and updates to senior leadership in relation to donor stewardship.Supports the administration of society benefits and external partnership benefits to ensure that all donors receive the highest quality stewardship experience.Participates in and supports the fundraising initiatives of the Foundation, including special events and donor engagement activities.Supports foundation-based goals that contribute to the success of the Foundation and Memorial Hermann, including special fundraising projects like the annual employee campaign.Keeps abreast of current best practices in the development profession, continually evaluating new and emerging ideas for potential implementation at the Memorial Hermann Foundation.Remains informed about developments in the competitive marketplace, especially in the Texas Medical Center and Houston nonprofit community.Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals, which contribute to the success of the organization.Other duties as assigned.
