The University of California, Irvine anticipates a postdoctoral position in theoretical condensed matter physics to study microscopic sources of noise and loss in magnetic systems. The successful applicant will have a strong theoretical physics background in statistical and condensed matter physics as well as computer skills. Knowledge of magnetism, magnetic materials, two-level systems, and disordered systems is useful, as is experience with Monte Carlo simulations.The minimum qualification is a Ph.D in physics or a closely related field.
