Behavior Specialist I- Family Intervention & Restorative Services

Ryther is expanding our work in preventing and decreasing youth involvement in juvenile justice by providing therapeutic support when youth and their families need it most. The Behavior Specialist will create and maintain a positive, safe, and therapeutic environment in a court diversion program while supporting clients, through a trauma-informed lens, in regulation strategies and return home. As a Behavior Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide supportive services with youth, and their families, experiencing crisis.

The role of Behavior Specialist includes providing direct client care, paperwork completion, promoting an affirming treatment environment, maintaining daily routines, and assisting in tasks related to client care. Additionally, Behavior Specialists provide input on programming and treatment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate and support all daily program activities, including skills groups, meals and snacks, and activities.

Support client emotion regulation and reintegration

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Engage in training to develop knowledge and skills needed to provide diversity affirming, trauma-informed milieu care

Complete daily clinical documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or high school education/GED with at least one year combination of experience and training working with children, youth, and/or families, preferably in a mental health related setting.

Valid WA state driver's license, good driving record, and ability to drive agency vehicles

Acceptance and ability to work with individuals and families with a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices with the ability to apply a social justice and equity lens to all aspects of this work.

Experience working with youth in the juvenile justice system, group care settings, or higher level of care

Job Type:

Full-time or Part-time

Pay:

$22-$26/hr DOE
