Position Summary :

The Department of Molecular Biosciences (MBS) at the University of South Florida (Tampa campus) invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in Molecular Biophysics with an expected start date of August 7, 2025.

We seek applicants with a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Chemistry, or an associated discipline and an exceptional record of scholarly achievement to join our molecular biophysics cluster. The candidate should possess expertise using cryo-EM/ET, NMR, molecular simulations, bioinformatics, single molecule or other types of spectroscopic techniques to understand the structure, conformation and function of medically relevant macromolecular assemblies at atomic resolution. The successful candidate is expected to develop a rigorous and innovative research program that synergizes with existing programmatic research areas in Molecular Biophysics & Systems Biology, Bacterial Pathogenesis, Genome Integrity, or Biomedical Science. Faculty in MBS are intrinsically collaborative, and the successful candidate will have a number of opportunities to conduct multi-disciplinary research.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive start-up package, excellent laboratory space, and access to various core facilities from the department to the university level, including the NCI-designated Moffitt Cancer Research Center. The state-of-the-art equipment on campus includes 800MHz NMR with cryo-probe, 300KeV cryo-EM (being installed), and a central high performance computing cluster.

Minimum Qualifications : Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Chemistry, or a related discipline and a record of scholarly achievement.

Preferred Qualifications : Expertise using cryo-EM/ET, NMR, molecular simulations, bioinformatics, single molecule or other types of spectroscopic techniques to understand the structure, conformation and function of medically relevant macromolecular assemblies at atomic resolution.
