Job Scope

The Associate Scientist I will be responsible for:Preparation and evaluation of reagents: e.g. new microspheres; evaluation of reagents developed in collaboration with other companies, e.g. surface modifications; assisting customers with processes; and product development.Evaluation of the potentials of the Luminex technology with the design of experiments, preparation of reagents, and performance of assays that evaluate Luminex technology.Evaluations include the interpretation and reporting of results from experiments including appropriate documentation of results.Testing, evaluating, and validating new Luminex instrumentation and software.

Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecute laboratory work to support the development of reagents and processes to support the Luminex technology.With Senior Scientist Manager, troubleshoot experimental issues.With Senior Scientist Manager, develop and perform Designed Experiments to obtain data relevant to troubleshooting experimental issues.Create lab notebook entries and other documentation according to procedures.Review and maintain laboratory inventories of common materials and reagents, including placing order requests on internal computer systems.Interact with other parts of the company to ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated according to procedures.Report findings to team members and discuss implications of findings.In collaboration with Technical Services, troubleshoot customer issues.

Education, Experience, and QualificationsBachelor's Degree Minimum Bachelor of Science degree, Chemistry preferred required.Experience with MS Office or equivalent package of software for spreadsheet and text required.Ability to report laboratory findings in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing required.Ability to analyze laboratory experiments for improvements.Ability to work error-free and productively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to conduct laboratory experiments of high quality even under timeline stresses.Experience in conducting laboratory work following detailed experimental design a plus preferred.Experience with ISO, cGMP or other such systems within a laboratory setting is a plus preferred.Experience with laboratory validation and verification is desired preferred.
