UAS Airspace Integration Project Management Analyst, Senior

to support the PMA-262 Core Avionics Integrated Product Team (IPT) customer in Patuxent River, MD. The US Airspace Integration Project Management Analyst, Senior will support an integrated multi-discipline Government and support contractor team in the execution of the day-to-day management for the Triton UAS program’s Airspace Integration activities, including the development, validation, sustainment, and production of sub-systems integral to the Due Regard capability. The Core Avionics IPT will monitor and report the contractor’s compliance with contract requirements regarding cost, schedule, and performance.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical analyses and guidance in airborne platform and ground-based communication systems.

Develop technical assessments and recommendations, PowerPoint presentations, white papers, and analysis reports in support of PMA communication capability priorities.

Provide communications and networking systems technical support for the full system engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, and implementation.

Research, propose, and implement solutions to communications and networking systems' problems of interest as derived from program requirements.

Provide communications systems engineering support for various U/VHF radio communications systems, Common Data Link (CDL) systems, commercial/government satellite communications systems, and networks.

Ensure project schedules and performance requirements are met.

Support day-to-day management of the Triton UAS program’s Airspace Integration activities, including the development, validation, sustainment, and production of sub-systems integral to the Due Regard Capability.

Support primary sub-systems that compose Due Regard Capability:

Air-to-Air Radar (ATAR) Sub-System

Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS)/Airborne Collision Avoidance System for Unmanned Aircraft (ACAS Xu)

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B)

Identification Friend or Foe (IFF)

Mission Control System (MCS) related command, control, alerting, and display functionality.

Additional Avionics responsibilities include:

Communications Navigation Systems – Air Traffic Management (CNS-ATM) certifications, Flight Data Recorder (FDR), Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) and Radio Altimeter (RADALT).

Responsible for developing a systems approach to airspace access, allowing the Triton UAS to safely operate in global, civil and military air traffic management environments.

The Core Avionics IPT is responsible for the development of a Due Regard Safety Case in support of the NAVAIR Certification process, and overseeing the development of analysis and engineering artifacts that effectively balances verification of requirements between T&E and Modeling & Simulation.

Required Experience:

Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience.

Required Education:

Master’s Degree or allowable substitutions. Allowable substitutions for a Master’s Degree include a Bachelor’s Degree plus two years of additional work experience, an Associate’s Degree plus four years of additional work experience or six years of additional work experience with no degree.

Desired Experience:

NAVAIR Class Desk/System Engineering, Familiarity with USN Airworthiness and System Safety Programs.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Required Skills:

Bachelors with minimum 15 years experience or equivalent relevant work experience. Bachelors maybe substituted 2 for 1, in addition to the relevant work experience requirements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond professionally to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to communicate in English.

Must have good oral and written communication skills. Should be capable of making presentations to customers. Written reports and technical documents are required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistics, frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Develops and adapts to new research and development principles for application to product development. Determines nature/scope of testing necessary to meet project goals and requirements.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) with ability to create spreadsheets and word processing documents. CAD proficiency, SolidWorks preferred. Knowledge in analysis software is an advantage.
