Fuel your career with GEODIS and discover endless growth opportunities.Your role on the team:Ensures operational compliance for ocean freight products regarding FMC regulations, AMS, AES, dangerous goods and legal requirements.Prepares reports for operational use and compliance, such as achieved rates, FMC compliance, Milestone compliance and performance.Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ocean freight department, including developing and implementing strategies, escalations, and ensuring that all shipments are processed efficiently and on time.Develop and maintain relationships with ocean carriers, truckers, and co-loaders to secure competitive rates and ensure timely delivery of shipments.Monitor the ocean freight market and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs, including tracking rates, capacity, and demand, and developing new strategies for managing shipments.Work with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and customer service, to ensure that ocean freight needs are met, providing input on pricing, lead times, and other factors affecting customer satisfaction.Develop and implement training programs for ocean freight staff to ensure they are up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in ocean freight.Stay up to date on industry regulations and trends to ensure compliance and capitalize on new opportunities.Provide reports to senior management on ocean freight performance.Attend trade shows and conferences to network with other professionals in the industry.Develop and execute marketing plans for ocean freight services.Oversee the development of new ocean freight products and services.What you need: (requirements)Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.Minimum 7 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and training.Minimum 3 years CargoWise operation system experience.IAC, IATA, and IMO hazardous materials training.PC literate, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio) and Adobe Captivate.What you gain from joining our team:Access wages early with the Rain financial wellness app.Free telemedical access to doctors and therapists through First Stop Health on the first day of employment.Health, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days of employment.401k match.Paid maternity and parental leave.Access to career development, employee resource groups, and mentorship programs.Employee discounts.Access to employee perks like fitness class discounts and free access to a relaxation and meditation app.Free financial wellness programs.Daycare discount program.Opportunities to volunteer and give back to your community.+ more!Join our Team!Visit our website at
