2+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Tech in an Ophthalmic practice siteExperience performing various Ophthalmic exams including slit lamp, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, Keratometry, refractometryRooming patients and obtaining historiesScribing for providersAssisting with surgical proceduresHandling dilationsExperience obtaining pre-auths and scheduling appointmentsCertification (COT) or (COA)Completion of a two-year certified ophthalmic assistant program preferredBLSDUTIES:
The duties of the Ophthalmic Tech include but are not limited to the following:Room patientsObtain medical historyCheck patient visual acuityHandle dilationsPerform various exams including slit lamp, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry and refractometryProvide photography supportAssist with surgical proceduresHandle scribingClean and stock roomsPrepare instruments for sterilizationObtain authorizationsHandle chart prepSchedule appointmentsQuadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
