AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic and highly motivated leader to join our team as a

Senior Environmental Scientist

within the

FDOT Corridors Program Office (CPO) in Celebration, Florida.

This position will lead environmental permitting for the Moving I-4 Forward program, one of the highest-profile projects in the state! Duties required of the role include project task management, team and agency coordination, federal and state permit submittals and tracking, and mitigation planning. Parts of the role require technical writing, project and task tracking, and quality control for a fast-paced program. This position will work with a team of environmental professionals and engineers at the CPO, FDOT, and others around the state to deliver this program.

How will you contribute to the team?Execution of PM responsibilities on numerous projectsIndependently interface with FDOT and regulatory staff to accomplish project directivesMonitor, coordinate and/or provide direction on quality control effortsPrepare and complete state and federal regulatory permits and mitigation plans associated with the Moving I-4 Forward programField activities may include wetland delineation, threatened and endangered species surveys and relocations, and environmental compliance activities, primarily overseeing others to perform this work

What will you contribute?B.S., B.A., or M.S. in a field of Science such as Environmental Science, Marine Science, Biology, Ecology, or other related natural science.Minimum seven years' experience since Bachelor's degree, or six years' experience with Master's degree; typical incumbent has eight to ten years' experienceDemonstrated transportation project experienceLead and participate in projects with large-scale consultation needs with USACE, USFWS, and FWC. Agency contacts a plus. Strong understanding of federal, local, and state permitting requirements.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; technical writing, computer, and communication skills required.NEPA (PD&E) experience desired, including preparation and review.Position requires driving a company vehicle; incumbent must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.Travel will be required, but infrequent (~5%).
