Job Summary:

Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, the Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral position. Research interests include battery management systems, battery modeling, battery testing and simulation equipment, software packages such as Matlab and COMSOL, and battery modules and packs designs. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of productivity, meeting project requirements and deadlines, and availability of funding.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge in the areas of battery management systems, battery modeling, battery testing and simulation equipment, software packages such as Matlab and COMSOL, and battery modules and packs designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge in one or more programming languages, power electronic systems design, simulation, hardware development, and testing, and/or electric vehicle charging/chargers.
