Lead Solutions Engineer

Overview

As a Lead Solutions Engineer, you will be a supporting leader of efforts in new business lines and project offerings within Quality Uptime Services. In this role, you will build on your sales operations and technical skills to take charge of scoping complex projects and participate in the project sales process that will shape our team’s success in the future. You are expected to bring innovation to the company, challenge the status quo, and set a new standard for delivering solutions and services. This role is a salary exempt position reporting directly to Justin Genese, Director of Solutions Delivery. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the items listed below.

Roles and Responsibilities

Work closely with both clients and the internal sales team to understand their needs and requirements and to develop solutions that meet those needs. Involved in gathering and analyzing data, creating project plans, and presenting proposals to clients.

Assist project teams with creating RFIs, RFPs, and gathering associated proposals to create a holistic solution.

Host meetings with suppliers, service partners, internal, and external stakeholders.

Travel to client sites to gather data, discuss proposed solutions, manage active projects, and oversee QA/QC.

Strong communication skills are imperative; your ability to communicate effectively and clearly while presenting technical solutions is key to success.

Present and educate clients on the value of different products and services to prospective clients.

Document all technical inquiries and customer interactions to track project progress and update customer files.

Prepare and present project schedules, project updates, and closeout packages for key stakeholders.

Participate in sales strategy to innovate on service contracts and project offerings.

Support supplier, service partner, and channel partner network expansions with a focus on quality over quantity.

Evaluate existing relationships and assist with adding or removing partners as needed.

Organize sales and solutions team training on new offerings and product lines.

Review ongoing and past projects for profitability, process improvements, and general lessons learned.

Assist all members of the Solution Delivery team with tasks as assigned by management.

The Lead Solutions Engineer will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, including coordinating with team members and clients, setting project goals and timelines, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues that arise during the implementation of a solution. You will be asked to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively.

Be familiar with the latest trends and developments in the critical power industry and apply this knowledge to your work. You will be responsible for staying up to date with modern technologies and approaches and for incorporating these into your solutions.

Develop and maintain technical documentation.

Education/Experience

Associate degree or bachelor's degree desired.

5+ years of Sales and/or Project Management experience supporting Critical Power Applications in one or more of the following industries: Data Center, Health Care, or Telecommunication.

Experience with CRM such as Salesforce.com, MS Excel, Outlook, MS Word, MS Teams.

Data Center and/or Project Management Training Certifications or Accreditations a plus.
