SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORKDuties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will:Advance existing research agendas and records of scholarship, or have demonstrated potential to build a research agenda and record of scholarship.Teach in-person as well as online/hybrid formats, across degree programs and across curricular domains, with attention to the following curricular areas:Mezzo/macro-organizational and community practiceOlder adults/Gero edSocial work theory and practiceAdvanced clinical practiceSocial work policy, (e.g., abolition of child welfare)Contribute to service at the school, university, community, and professional levels.Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

include an MSW degree and PhD degree in social work or a related field, two years of post-MSW practice experience, and a record of research, scholarship, and teaching appropriate for the school’s requirements for the rank sought. To be considered at the Assistant Professor level, the candidate must have clear evidence of potential for excellence in research, scholarship, teaching, and service. To be considered at the rank of Associate Professor, applicants must have an established research agenda, including a strong record of scholarship and seeking funded research, as well as mentorship activities with students.Preferred qualifications

include a record of interdisciplinary research and teaching interests focused on the African American/Black diaspora, with an ability to engage in the experiences of other peoples of African descent and other communities of color.Special Instructions to Applicants

Applicants must submit a Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter indicating the position and rank sought. The cover letter should detail the applicant’s qualifications and experiences as they align with the mission and work of the SSW and LUC. Applicants should also submit a writing sample in which they had a significant role, preferably first author.
