Power Systems control and optimization
for our research center in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a scientist in the global Hitachi Energy Research organization, you will propose and lead cutting-edge research projects to push the boundaries of knowledge and technology for Hitachi Energy's future products and services.Your ResponsibilitiesPropose, contribute to and lead R&D projects in power and energy systemsCollaborate with a global team to identify and solve real-world challenges for our customers.Propose and work on novel ideas and concepts for the next generation of power systems.Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise.Collaborate with external partners including universities, startups, and vendors.Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.Your BackgroundPh.D. degree in either Electrical Engineering or ISE/Operation research degree with power system application focusPower system operation principles and issuesPower system modeling, AC and DC grids, including DER and IBR modeling.Market based system operation.Constrained optimization theory and tools for Linear Programming (LP), mixed integer programming (MIP), Non-Linear Programming (NLP), Non-Linear Mixed Integer Programming (NLMIP)Excellent leadership and communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity.Fluency in English, both written and spoken.Fluency in common programming languages like Python or C++, MatlabEqual Opportunity Employer (EOE) - Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesProtected veterans and qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
