Summary:

Join our team of environmental scientists at NMSU-CEMRC! We're seeking a talented Research Scientist, Inter to contribute to our radiochemistry group.

Classification Summary:

Independently interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates research assignments. Formulates and conducts research on problems of considerable scope and complexity.

Classification Standard Duties:

Applies diversified knowledge of scientific research principles, practices, and protocols in research projects; collaborates with users and principal investigators; interprets, organizes, and coordinates scientific research assignments; develops model concepts and approaches; supplies technical leadership; prepares analyses, reports, and documentation for publication; presents findings; prepares grant proposals; serves as principal investigator; maintains knowledge of relevant technology.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency:Required Education: Doctorate degree in related field.Required Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience directly related to the standard duties outlined.Equivalency: None.Required Certification/License: None.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:Assists the radiochemistry group in the preparation, separation, and quantification of environmental samples for the presence of radioactive substances. Operates sophisticated analytical equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
