Zurich is currently looking for a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S., offering insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents. Together with RCIS agents, we protect America's farmers and ranchers.This position will work virtually out of their home in California. The ideal candidate for this role would be located in Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Sacramento, Gold River, San Francisco, San Jose, or the Delta area. This position will require travel up to 50% of the time, including out-of-state travel.With moderate direction, they will investigate, evaluate, and conclude complex field inspections by following appropriate regulatory and company rules and procedures to ensure that claims are handled effectively while delivering a customer-centric claims service. They will also provide support to Area Claims Managers as a local claims specialist in day-to-day operations and claims management. Additionally, the selected candidates will support lower-level adjusting staff by providing training and assistance with complex claims.Additional responsibilities will include:Exercise judgment to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts; utilizing applicable procedures.Determine policy verification and coverage by analyzing applicable coverage for claims and determining whether the loss falls within coverage.Participate in Risk Management Agency initiated reviews and referrals for operational integrity and quality assurance.Protect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidential.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, staying current with industry trends, and participating in professional societies.Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel within the territory.RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.Preferred Qualifications:Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong organization and prioritization skills.Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on factors including office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
