Senior Project Manager

to provide overall leadership direction to one large project or multiple

water/wastewater treatment plant projects

to include the management of project quality, timeliness, safety, as well as mentoring the project team. You will develop and improve customer relationships by providing excellent service.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success.Responsibilities:Organization, flexibility, excellent customer focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:Supervise the overall financial health of projectsHandle subcontracts and suppliers for the projectLead Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)Function as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representativeHandle change ordersOther duties as assigned includingSpecific duties include:Develop and maintain project financial projections and equipment projectionsDetermine and allocate project estimate into financial systemDetermine cost codes, approve invoices, and make necessary budget management decisionsProvide financials and billings to Accounting for timely paymentCreate monthly owner billingsHandle the budget and make selections of subcontractors and suppliersHandle billings and contract management, including contract buyoutsProvide job assignments and lead career developmentApprove timecards for on-site team membersProvide trainingReview work performance; figure out rewards and/or performance management measuresAssist with the review of the owner agreementResolve site concerns for the owner or representativeProvide frequent interactions and service to build positive relationships and future work opportunitiesDecide when to submit change orders to the owner or on-site representativeObtain the customer and/or architect's approvalMaintain schedule and budget until project completionProvide high level management of quality, risk, safety, and compliance for the project and team membersUse the appropriate level of forethought and planning in decision-making to assure project successResponsible for dispute resolutionQualifications:Minimum eight years of construction management/project management or related experienceExperience overseeing water/wastewater treatment plant projects requiredAbility to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, large complex projectsActive listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedbackPossess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesMicrosoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate levelPositive professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesCurrent driver's licenseTravelEducation:Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experienceVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.Mortenson is an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
