Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level. The successful candidate will have expertise in Korean literature and culture or related fields. Ability to teach large-enrollment, thematically broad undergraduate classes connecting past and present is desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with fostering or the ability to foster an inclusive and equity-centered teaching, learning, departmental, and research environment where all can thrive.Job Summary:

The successful candidate will engage in the intellectual life of the department through the teaching of undergraduate and graduate level courses, with a general teaching load of 2/2. Mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students is expected. Professional and university service is required as appropriate for the career stage. The successful candidate, as a member of the College of Letters & Science, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college's commitment to diversity among all aspects of teaching, research, and service.Responsibilities:

Required: MA or equivalent in Asian Studies or related field with a specialization in Korea.Additional Information:

The typical starting salary for this position is between $50,000 and $90,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.Candidates will be requested to submit a single PDF document consisting of letter of application, curriculum vitae, two sample syllabi, and writing sample (dissertation chapter, journal article, or book chapter). Candidates will also be asked to provide the names and contact information for three references.
