HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGERSUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Environmental Engineer will provide environmental engineering guidance and assistance to individual units to ensure full compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations related to Environmental regulations with emphasis on LADEQ water, waste, deep-well injection, and air compliance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review, compile, and/or submit solid and hazardous waste management data, hazardous waste reports and other multimedia environmental reports including air, water, and deep-well injection.

Assist in the administration of RCRA programs and policies to ensure timely regulatory compliance, business objectives, and SHE objectives are met.

Support compliance with environmental standards, provide assistance in improving environmental performance, and ensure facility environmental policies and procedures are aligned with governmental regulations.

Assist in developing and implementing programs for environmental monitoring and sampling activities.

Conduct permit renewal and modification activities as required.

Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on environmental initiatives.

Periodic monitoring of key metrics related to environmental performance.

Perform gap analysis and develop and implement action plans to drive up SHE performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in chemistry, engineering or related science field.

Internship, Co-Op, or work experience in regulatory requirements such as RCRA, etc.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or related industry.

Experience as an environmental coordinator or industrial hygienist assigned to a process unit, with demonstrated knowledge and practice of OSHA PSM 1910.119 elements and/or LADEQ air, water, waste, deep-well injection compliance.

Familiarity with the operation of scrubbers, flares, and deep-wells and regulatory requirements associated with them.

EDUCATION:

Minimum Required: BS in chemistry, engineering or related science field.
