The Islamic Studies Director position is a full-time role to lead the Islamic Studies instruction, curriculum, and overall Islamic spirit of LUA. Responsibilities include:Teaching Islamic Studies subjects in the middle school grades.Supporting teachers’ instruction in other grades.Working with teachers on curriculum development to enhance and improve LUA’s curriculum content and delivery.Participating in school events and activities.Providing mentorship for students.Leading the overall Islamic spirit of the school.Qualifications:

Degree or certification is required.Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.Able to learn quickly and work well with others.Capable of conveying the wisdom and beauty of Islam in an engaging and relevant way to young people.Organized, punctual, and able to craft and follow structured lesson plans.Experience teaching or working with youth in a classroom setting.Able to teach and lead salat.Able to give Jummah khutbah.Strong understanding of Islamic etiquettes, manners, and appropriate behavior.Adequate understanding of the fundamentals of Islamic teachings.Thorough understanding of challenges and hardships Muslim youth face in America.Ability to relate well to elementary and middle school students from different backgrounds.Fluency in English and Arabic (both spoken and written).
