SUMMARYKAGR is seeking a skilled Data Scientist with experience developing machine learning models to drive business decisions, deploying models into production, and maintaining the ML infrastructure. The position will autonomously own the design, execution, and delivery of actionable data science models to answer strategic questions in the sports industry. This person will work closely with other members of the Data Science team and will partner with internal teams including Client Services, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence to develop a variety of predictive models, forecasting models, and marketing analyses. Additionally, the Data Scientist will partner with our Product team to build and maintain an infrastructure that facilitates end-to-end ML workflows. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use data science and machine learning capabilities to transform the sports and entertainment industry.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, develop, deploy and maintain a variety of predictive models (including lead scoring, lookalike, retention, and other customized predictive models)Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for data analysis, model development, model validation and productionPartner with internal teams to ensure that Data Science output meets client requirements from a business and technical perspectiveFocus on model operations, including all tasks necessary to turn a prototype into a production model, such as 1) packaging, 2) validation, 3) deployment, and 4) monitoringPartner with other members of the Data Science team to develop new models and iteratively improve upon existing models to help answer clients' business questions and inform clients' strategic decisionsAct as a mentor to junior Data Science team members to share new techniques and maintain & enhance best practicesWillingness to explore new and custom solutions as required by KAGR clientsSpecial projects and assignments as business dictatesResponsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAASUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or quantitative discipline (master's degree is a plus)3+ years of experience in model design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing models3+ years of experience developing and training and testing advanced analytical and ML modelsDemonstrable experience working with tools such as AWS, Git, MLFlow or equivalent and deploying models to cloud environments via containers.Demonstrable experience with common data science toolkits, such as Python, Sci-kit Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, etc.Interest in learning and applying statistical methodologies, techniques and processesInterest in continuously deepening knowledge of advanced statistical analysis and modelingAbility to present complex data sets and analyses in ways that are easy to understand for both technical and nontechnical audiencesExperience with SQL required for data miningExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong desire to learn and drive new solutionsAbility to work collaboratively within a diverse team and serve a variety of stakeholders with different prioritiesOutstanding organizational skills and attention to detailMust be curious, resourceful, team-oriented, and coachable with a determination to succeedMust have attention to detail and focused concentrationMust be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independentlyMust be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflowMust possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsivenessPHYSICAL DEMANDSSitting for extended periods of timeDexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computing equipmentThe employee frequently is required to talk or hearThe employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and armsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.WORK ENVIRONMENTFast paced office environmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSNone requiredOTHER DUTIESPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
