Prairie State College seeks candidates for adjunct faculty who are qualified to teach Introduction to Sociology starting Spring 2025 on our main campus. Background in teaching race relations, gender studies, and/or marriage and the family is a plus.Candidates will be responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning and collaborating with the Dean and other colleagues to improve the student learning experience. Candidates should also be highly competent in a variety of technology-based programs related to student instruction and be comfortable with teaching in the online setting.Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in sociology or related field or Master’s Degree with 18 hours in the disciplineExpertise in appropriate technologies for instructionExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsCommitment to the mission of the community collegeAbility to support the Prairie State College general education learning outcome areas of Communication, Creative Thinking, Cultural Understanding, Information Literacy, and Problem SolvingPreferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching a variety of sociology coursesTeaching experience at the collegiate levelTeaching experience at the community college levelExperience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgroundsCredentialed to teach in the online formatGraduate work beyond the Master’sPosting Date:
