Position title: Assistant Professor
Salary range: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. A reasonable estimate for this position is $105,000 – $150,000.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Algebra, at the level of Assistant Professor. All areas of algebra will be considered.
Responsibilities include teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, recruitment, supervision, mentorship of graduate students, participation in university service and professional activities, and development of a funded research program.
The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications:
At a minimum, applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD (or equivalent) except the dissertation in mathematics or a related field at the time of application.
Additional qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD degree or equivalent in mathematics or a related field by anticipated appointment start date (July 1, 2025).
Preferred qualifications:
A demonstrated record of excellence in research and potential for outstanding teaching.
