Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a board-prepared or board-certified physician at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher to join our growing academic department in the world’s largest medical center, located in Houston, Texas. The 44-bed emergency department has an annual census of nearly 30,000. This is an exceptional opportunity for emergency physicians to support the development of oncologic emergency medicine as a distinct sub-discipline. Responsibilities include providing patient care in oncologic emergencies as well as supervising and educating medical students, residents, and fellows.Education & LicensureThe Assistant Professor must have completed the M.D. degree in an accredited medical school or equivalent, must have completed residency training in an approved American Residency Program or equivalent, have made application and been accepted by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, and be licensed as a physician in the State of Texas. Must be board certified in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent if applicable) or obtain board certification within 3 years of employment.
