Job Summary/Objective

The Sustainability Analyst will play a critical role in supporting UDA's sustainability efforts by managing and running data collection processes for various reporting initiatives. This role will involve developing tools and strategies to enhance sustainability reporting and decision-making within the organization. You will work closely with the Sustainability Manager to support UDA's sustainability programs, including the EcoVadis certification program, customer sustainability questionnaires, and the FARM Environmental Stewardship program. You will also help develop internal and external sustainability dashboards, communication strategies, and various other initiatives aligned with UDA's sustainability goals.Schedule:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Data Collection & Management:

Communicate complex data findings in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical audiences.Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary data and insights for sustainability reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Participate in the preparation of sustainability certifications, awards, and other recognition programs.Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging trends in sustainability to inform UDA's strategies.Assist in the development and implementation of sustainability programs and projects, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and carbon footprint reduction initiatives.

Support Sustainability Initiatives:

FARM Environmental Stewardship Program: Oversee the administration of the FARM Environmental Stewardship program, including data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.Customer Sustainability Questionnaires: Manage the completion and submission of sustainability questionnaires required by customers, ensuring accuracy and timely responses.EcoVadis Certification: Support the management and continuous improvement of UDA's EcoVadis certification, including data collection, submission, and follow-up actions.

Program Support:

Support the development of internal sustainability communication strategies and initiatives to promote environmental stewardship across the organization.Develop business cases for various sustainability initiatives and projects.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability data into broader organizational performance metrics.Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry partners, and members.Analyze sustainability data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

Own the GHG, waste, energy, and water inventories, complete calculations based on the GHG Protocol and other domestic and international standards and manage third-party verification processes.Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness through regular audits and quality control measures.Develop and maintain databases, dashboards, and spreadsheets for tracking sustainability performance, including energy use, water consumption, waste management, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.Design, implement, and manage data collection processes for sustainability metrics across the organization.

Qualifications:

General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully:Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large data sets.Strong strategic and business mindset with the ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge positive professional relationships.Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant products.Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, business operations, and sustainability reporting standards such as GRI and SASB, and GHG Protocol frameworks.Proficiency in tools like Excel and Power BI, with a working understanding of SmartSheet project management software being a plus.Ability to inspire others and promote a team environment, while accepting responsibility for actions and decisions.Proficiency in data governance, information analysis, and understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, data storage systems, and telecommunications.

Experience: (required)

3-5 years of experience as a business and/or sustainability analyst in a manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on cost accounting and reporting.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data visualization tools like Power BI.Experience with data management systems and reporting software is highly desirable.Previous experience in sustainability reporting is a plus.Experience quantifying, tracking, and mitigating environmental impacts, including working with GHG inventory data.

Education/Certifications:

Required:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or comparable work experience required.
