Job Description

The Fluid Dynamics Group in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Scholar position. The position is being offered for an initial term of 1 year with possibility of extension, and is contingent upon funding. This position will support two distinct, high-impact research projects, funded by the Department of Energy (DOE).

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a postdoctoral position to accelerate Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) simulations. The successful candidate will work on enhancing simulation platforms and developing advanced computational and data-driven methods to improve FSI computations.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Background in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Fluid-Structure Interactions (FSI).

Proficiency in OpenFOAM.

Proficiency in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Python, and C++.

Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.

The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.

The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
