Appointments to the faculty of The University of Alabama are based on the personnel requirements of the University's academic programs and on the goal of achieving and maintaining excellence in its teaching, research, and service/academic citizenship activities. Responsibilities will include duties in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine, including teaching medical students and residents in clinical training, research and scholarly activity as well as providing direct patient care, with an emphasis in a rural outpatient/ambulatory and inpatient primary care setting.Minimum Qualifications:

M.D. or D.O. and Board eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine required. Candidates must meet Alabama medical licensure requirements and complete licensure within the state prior to start date.Preferred Qualifications:

A track record of scholarship, focusing on learning and teaching in a health professions or medical school environment would be desirable. Successful candidates will display a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to work in multidisciplinary and inter-professional teams and have excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.Instructions and Required Materials for Application:
