Learning and Development Coordinator

plays a vital role in the success of the Training Team by providing essential support for the department's daily operations. In addition, responsibilities include facilitating orientation and technical training for new employees at Bellco. The role involves developing, planning, designing, implementing, and assessing a broad spectrum of training activities that are in line with Bellco’s strategic initiatives, culture, and business objectives.Primary Responsibilities & DutiesResponsible for coordination and delivery of in-person, virtual and hybrid training programs for various levels of the credit union, specifically responsible for new hire orientation and technical teller training for new retail staff and other programs as needed.Responsible for delivering content using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.Designs and develops training content using instructional design best practices. Identifies appropriate media for both virtual and classroom delivery. Ensures training content is clear, accurate, consistent, and free of spelling and grammatical errors. Leverages active learning strategies for adult learners that address diverse learning styles and abilities.Works in collaboration with the training team to develop and maintain training materials and course curriculum, ensuring alignment with the latest policies, procedures, and business requirements in a timely fashion.Works in collaboration with the training team to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and identifies areas where employees require additional training, recommending specialized programs to meet these needs.Assists with classroom preparation tasks such as system testing, printing and distributing materials, and setting up the classroom.Responsible for coordinating training activities for new staff, which encompasses scheduling, communication, and tracking the completion of training.Responsible for coordinating annual training programs, which includes liaising with relevant departments for content review, updating courses as necessary, and creating training programs.Responsible for Learning Management System (LMS) administration including password resets, user management, reporting, and class and training program creation.Responsible for maintaining team and public training calendars.Engages in cross-training for various tasks and classroom backup duties.May engage in cross-functional project teams, requiring the evaluation of training needs and the delivery of new or updated training materials within the project's scope and deadlines.Ensure timely responses to internal requests to maintain consistent and continuous support for all employees.Maintains confidentiality and protects all personal identifiable information (PII) used in classroom activities and materials.Adheres to regular and punctual attendance.Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union and Training Department.Qualification/RequirementsEducation: Post-secondary education is preferred, or equivalent knowledge, training, and experience. Formal education in adult learning methods is desirable.Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in training, facilitation, or training/instructional design is required, ideally with an emphasis on technical systems or retail banking services.Professional skill training experience preferred, such as communication, service, conflict resolution, teamwork, or empathy.One year retail banking experience preferred.One year Learning Management System (LMS) administration experience preferred.One year experience with Articulate 360 or similar online course authoring tools preferred.Skills: Passionate commitment to uphold Bellco's Core Values and Act Nice Behaviors. Continued learning mindset and desire to advance personal and team knowledge of the changing learning and development landscape. Ability to perform duties with minimal direction and as a collaborative team member.Working ConditionsOffice/classroom environment; may require lifting up to 20 pounds, sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be expected. Regular use of a computer required. Instructor-led classes are scheduled between 8:00am-5:00pm; it is the facilitator's responsibility to set-up/clean-up so longer days should be expected when facilitating a class. Local or overnight, in-state travel may be required on a limited basis to support training efforts.
