Schedule: Full-Time Salary Range: USD $121300.00 - $169600.00 Job Category: Technology Pay Philosophy The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Description As a member of the Agile team, the Product Owner represents the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value. This person collaborates closely with stakeholders (business and technology), including segment level and executive leadership, to define and prioritize epics, features, and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals. The Product Owner understands customers' problems in detail and ensures the problems are clearly defined, prioritized and the squad/team focuses on the most valuable work for the organization. The Product Owner is the team member always communicating with stakeholders to ensure an aligned understanding of how the squad/team can provide the highest value for the customer through the lens of the organization. This person collaborates with squads/teams, other product owners in other portfolios, technologists, and architects across the organization to develop a deep understanding of the technologies and systems they support. The Risk Proposal & Issuance portfolio within the Underwriting domain is an exciting place to share your talents and knowledge of Underwriting as well as exercise creativity unraveling complex capabilities to ensure Underwriting profitability. In this role you will be specifically owning and supporting Underwriting products and capabilities for Surety. Responsibilities With the squad, accountable for developing and achieving product level KPIs Manages product(s) with high degree of strategy, scope, and complexity Owns and maintains the product backlog and is accountable for its contents and prioritization Accountable for clear, actionable user stories Participates in squad/team demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies Balances tactical and strategic decisions for the product, collaborating with peer product owners, managers, portfolio product owners, and other technical leaders, as necessary Leads and/or attend sessions with users, customers, SMEs, to gain thorough understanding the product, immediate opportunities, and long-term direction Partners with User Experience to ensure the products delivered strike the right balance between intuitive, simple, cohesive, and complete Monitors and maintains the product health Designs additional monitoring to support enhanced understanding of product health Proactively monitors impact of their product on others in the ecosystem Analyzes and reports on feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential changes to the product Drives alignment with stakeholders to understand the impact that their products' regulatory, compliance, and other industry constraints will have on other products in the portfolio Negotiates with internal and external squads/teams to set aligned priorities among squads/teams both within and outside the portfolio Responsibilities Highly Desired Contributes to the development of the portfolio vision Contributes to the creation of a product vision and alignment of strategic priorities with stakeholders Helps to communicates the product vision and strategy to their squad/team and other squads/teams outside their portfolio & functional area as well as executive leadership Ownership of multiple digital products (service, capability, or function),accountable for articulating value and outcomes derived through investment in the digital product Works frequently with the agile working group clarifying business needs, removing roadblocks, continually communicating, and supporting alignment around product strategy Own the following with respect to the digital product: Functionality (Reviews and accepts features as completed from delivery team) Outcomes and Key Performance Indicators Prioritization Implementation Communication (feature functionality) Backlog management with product delivery team Contributes to the articulation and definition of the work deliverables for the product (this could be EPICs, Features, Stories, with more of a focus on Features), based on investment appetite. Explains the desired outcomes, functionality, business process, and priorities, as it pertains to various planning intervals, to product delivery team Sets expectations with stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities as part of the quarterly planning process Qualifications Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.) and a minimum of 3 to 5 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting. Able to depict and explain the importance of complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and plan and the impact of change. Able to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; strong leadership skills. Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily. Strong problem solver with demonstrated ability to lead a team to push the solutions and progress. Experience in the insurance industry preferred. Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred. Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.
