Job Purpose: Operate and program CNC machines to produce precision parts, ensuring that all quality and safety standards are met. Maintain equipment and manage supplies to support efficient production. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC machines, including loading and unloading parts. Configure tooling offsets and load CNC programs. Read and interpret blueprints to execute machining tasks. Duties: Plan machining processes by reviewing work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Manage inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying deliveries. Program CNC mills and lathes by inputting machine instructions, setting tool registers and offsets, and performing necessary calculations in math, geometry, and trigonometry. Set up CNC equipment by installing and adjusting components such as chucks, tools, and vices. Verify machine setups by measuring first-run parts and sample workpieces, ensuring adherence to international standards. Maintain machining specifications through careful monitoring of operations, troubleshooting issues, and adjusting or reprogramming controls as needed. Perform preventive maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshooting problems and coordinating repairs. Maintain safe work practices by following all safety regulations. Document production activities by completing logs and records to ensure continuity across shifts. Continuously improve job knowledge by engaging in training opportunities and reading technical materials. Contribute to the organization's goals by taking on new responsibilities and finding ways to enhance job performance.
