Certification Details BLS, ACLS required Nurses must be able to interpret strips Job Details Specialty: Staffing Resources Float Pool (ICU/MS/Tele/PCU) Will include inpatients holding in ED across both campuses Average census is 20 for West stepdown; 95 beds for West med tele, divided into 4 areas Experience or 'Must have' skills: at least 1 year in ICU setting Job Requirements Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Experience in ICU setting for at least 1 year RNs required to titrate drips Must be comfortable managing majority of Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin drips Schedule Information Shifts 7-7 for AM and PM Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time Travelers need to be flexible Night shift will try to accommodate for block scheduling Every Other Weekend Requirements Holiday Requirements in perm staff rotation Call or standby requirement on shifts with excessive staff Units assigned 2 hours prior to shift via text message from staffing office Unit Specific Information Float Pool includes ICU, MedSurg Tele, and PCU across both campuses Nurse:Patient Ratios: PCU 1:4 MedSurg Tele 1:5-6 Charge Nurse/Supervisor on each unit; will not take assignments RNs read strips; monitor techs monitor PCU and Medsurg Tele RT Equipment includes CPAP or Bipap at night in MedSurg; BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High flow in PCU Scrub Color/Dress Code: Solid color professional scrubs; will align in October with Dignity guideline (Navy scrubs) Unit/Department specific orientation: 8-hour general hospital orientation, 12-hour shifts at West MedTele and PCU, similar for East campus Additional Details Geriatric patients, ortho patients, strong cath lab program Caring for groin sites in stepdown unit Post MI, post Cardiac Cath. CABG post-op day 3-4 Will include travelers in perm staff rotation for holidays May need to be on standby for 12 hours with possibility of being called in
