Certification Details Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Job Details A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking PCU RN's. 36 hours guaranteed. 1 years of unit experience. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Job Requirements 1 years of unit experience. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Schedule Information 36 hours guaranteed. Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Unit schedulers will make travelers schedule. Weekend Requirements: Every other. Holiday Requirements: As needed to meet unit needs. Unit Specific Information of Beds: 33 Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, Insulin; maintenance doses of IV meds (non-titratable) Charge Nurse: Yes - does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes RN duties: Reading and interpreting tele monitors Tele/Monitor Techs: Yes, RNs must read and interpret Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: Ratios? Duties?: CNAs 1:10 ratio- availability fluctuates based on unit census RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): BiPAP, Airvo Additional Details ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Department: Stepdown Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure. Attributes for success: strong sense of teamwork, friendly, positive can-do attitude, commitment to positive patient experience with bedside report and hourly rounding. Floating Requirements: Can float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care Scrub Color/Dress code: RN: Navy Blue How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week classroom then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor Radius Rule: 50 miles and candidates may not be affiliated with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). No additional RTO will be approved, including after submissions.
