The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time, board-certified/eligible Ophthalmologist on the ClinicianTrack at the rank of Assistant Professor.We seek an Ophthalmologist interested in teaching residents and staffing a clinical practice, particularly in an acute clinic and hospital consultation setting.Position HighlightsKey responsibilities include supervising, mentoring, and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as well as developing curriculum.The clinical practice for this position will be focused on hospital-based and acute clinic ophthalmology care.The successful candidate will also engage in academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher, and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate's career interests and goals.Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited ACGME Ophthalmology residency and/or fellowship training programBoard eligible/certified with the American Board of OphthalmologyLicensed or ability to obtain the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice LicensureAbility to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of MinnesotaMeet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and PrivilegesAbout the Department

Lions Gift of Sight is a full-service eye bank that is focused on providing donor eye tissue for transplant, research, and teaching, and promotes donation through education. Lions Gift of Sight has helped restore sight to more than 43,000 people by providing cornea tissue for transplantation and is one of the largest and most successful eye banks in the world. In addition, they've provided more than 39,000 corneas or eyes for basic research to help advance vision science.
