Swarm Aero, Oxnard, CA, United States

Swarm Aero is building the largest UAV swarm in the world and the only Group 5 UAV swarm. This long-range, low-cost UAV is designed to endure near hotspots in Europe and Asia, keeping democracies free by making it impractical to invade & occupy free people.

Our team has decades of aerospace experience from Scaled Composites, Stratolaunch, Airbus Vahana, Boeing, Uber Elevate, Embraer X, and Anduril. Our team has serial entrepreneurs, technologists, and military veterans that have built cutting edge AI, closed billions in tech deals involving DOD, crafted software including platforms supporting millions of users, and scaled global ultra-low latency trading operations.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Swarm Aero, you will design and build the hardware that makes up long-range swarming drones. You will design, analyze, build, and test hardware components that will take flight, everything from component mounts to complex electro-mechanical systems.

  • Decide on appropriate materials and construction techniques for various types of components and assemblies
  • Analyze your designs for loads and appropriate margins and minimal weight
  • Manage Integrated Aircraft mechanical model and systems simulations
  • Build, test, and fly the things you've created in the real world
WHAT YOU'VE DONE:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials or industrial engineering or gained relevant experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent operation
WHAT SETS YOU APART:
  • Demonstrated full-cycle (Design, Verify, Build) experience as part of an integrated team
  • Machining experience

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and trustworthy work environment, Swarm Aero conducts a thorough screening of prospective employees. Candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background verification process as a prerequisite for employment.
