Job Summary
The Operating Room Circulator Nurse is responsible for providing quality patient care in the operating room. This includes collaborating with physicians and team members, promoting patient independence, and ensuring a compassionate environment for patients and their families. The nurse will also be accountable for individual nursing practice and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Identifying patient care requirements and establishing rapport with patients and families
- Providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
- Promoting patient independence and teaching self-care skills
- Ensuring quality care and adhering to therapeutic standards
- Maintaining equipment and following infection control policies and protocols
Education/Experience Requirements
Required: Graduate of an accredited associate degree in nursing
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing and one or more years of experience in a related setting
Licensure/Certification Requirements
- Current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Preferred: Basic Life Support Certification
