This position is responsible for capitalizing on all sales opportunities for the hotel from both business transient and group segments. The ideal candidate will utilize proven best practices while uncovering new, innovative ideas to discover unforeseen opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
Establish annual sales plan, budget, and execute on the plan.
Meet or exceed the annual sales revenue goals, including sales activity production guidelines.
Develop expert knowledge of the hotel's product positioning in the marketplace, seasonality, and pricing strategies, and master the competitive advantages to the hotel's primary/aspirational competitive sets.
Provide day-to-day leadership with the team and inter-departments to achieve booking and sales revenue goals.
Provide customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Manage the development of a strategic action plan for the demand generators in the market.
Develop strategic alliances/partnerships to support marketing initiatives.
Work with the GM and home office team, continuously providing input and ideas to improve sales programs and results.
Set goals and expectations for direct reports, align performance and incentives, manage performance issues, and hold self and team accountable for results.
Comply with company sales reporting standards using Opera Sales & Catering and all other company sales, reservation, and distribution systems. Prepare pre-trip and post-trip reporting of any travel and trade show-related activities.
Lead and participate in weekly/biweekly department and revenue strategy meetings.
Develop, implement, and execute sales strategies in a quarterly action plan to impact existing key accounts, target accounts, and the development of new business opportunities within assigned market segments.
Maintain positive relations with both external partners and internal team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
University or college degree from an accredited institution.
5+ years of hotel sales experience.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of various computer software, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and other hotel systems.
Experience in Delphi Cloud or other sales CRM.
Experience in Opera Cloud preferred.
Experience in Agency 360 and other TravelClick/Amadeus products.
Positive, enthusiastic approach.
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Desire to win and exceed personal and company goals.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Intellectual and analytical curiosity.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
