Nursing care is provided to medical, neurologic (Acute Stroke, Rule out Stroke, TIA) and cardiac patients in all phases of their disease process including initial diagnosis, treatment, and discharge. Each room is equipped with oxygen outlets, compressed air outlets and vacuum outlets. The patient population is 18 years old and older with a patient/nurse ratio of 4-5 to 1.Schedule: Full-Time/Days (3 - 12 hour shifts per week)The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must be within 1 year of completing their BSN.Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.- Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year from date of hire.- Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days (3 months) of employment.Additional Skills:- Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.- Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
