Description: The Program Associate will report to and work closely with the Program Officer to assist with reviewing grantee reports, updating the grants management system, and participating in the convenings with partner organizations to share resources and address communal problems. In addition, the Program Associate will stay informed and apply knowledge of best practices, top performing organizations, and research pertaining to Jewish Federation's priority areas.

Responsibilities:The Program Associate will engage in and be responsible for the following:Internal Knowledge Sharing : Liaise between internal Federation departments on information related to our partner organizations, such as impact reports or recent media, to facilitate organization-wide knowledge and understanding of funded initiatives.Stakeholder Engagement : Support Program Director by researching and collating information about organizations, relationships, and community initiatives.Site visits : Attend site visits and meetings across the five-county area of Greater Philadelphia as needed for program monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and relationship building. Prepare materials and track outcomes of site visits and meetings.Research and Analysis : Conduct literature review and gather unpublished data through calls with other foundations and Federations to identify best practices around grantmaking and scholarship administration.Reporting and Evaluation : Review impact reports from grant-funded organizations and prepare reports for internal and external audiences for delivery by senior leadership.Regularly brief Program Officer on the developments in community-funded organizations.Work with the Project Manager to keep grant process information current throughout the lifecycle of the grant.

Requirements:

At least 2 years of experience in philanthropy, grantmaking, or a related field, preferably within the nonprofit sector.Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.Understanding of the Jewish community, its needs, and the broader nonprofit landscape.Familiarity with best practices in grantmaking, program evaluation, and philanthropy.Passionate about the Jewish Federation's mission, with a commitment to community service and social impact.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.Proven ability to facilitate difficult conversations and navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.Ability to travel to site visits across the five-county area of Greater Philadelphia and domestic travel for conferences, as needed.OverviewThe Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a hybrid work schedule, medical, dental, vision, prescription drug program, life insurance, generous paid time off and 403b retirement savingsprogram.
