Job Type Full-time Description JOB SUMMARY: The IT Systems Engineer's role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Enterprise-Class IT Systems both internally and externally with our customers. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network, server, and messaging-based IT Systems. This individual will technically lead IT projects and provide escalation to other team members. REPORTS TO: Director, IT Services DIRECT REPORTS: None ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Support the development and implementation of new technologies within large systems environments by advising on design concepts, implementation strategies, and deployment timelines Manage development, testing, and deployment of software and other computer systems technologies to ensure compliance with operational requirements for security, performance, reliability, and scalability Internal IT Data Center support and maintenance Research existing and emerging hardware and software technologies to determine capabilities and cost-benefit relationships and develop ongoing computer systems solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements Create thorough documentation records of design specifications and deployed systems configurations Coordinate and execute Azure and Private Cloud managed services implementations Provide network and security assessments, identifying opportunities for system improvements and efficiencies Create, document, and escalate issues and problems according to ticketing standards and SLAs Perform remote and onsite scheduled maintenance for ComTec internal and client-based systems Adhere to departmental policies for reporting and managing change requests Participate in an emergency on call rotation schedule Support development and implementation of Microsoft Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure SQL, Hyper-V, and Software Defined Storage performance tuning Other duties as required Requirements TECHNICAL SKILLS: Ability to design, install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot the following: - Microsoft Windows Server - Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Azure Active Directory - Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct - Azure AD Connect - Azure Site Recovery - Microsoft 365 - On Premise Microsoft Exchange and Hybrid Cloud - Microsoft SQL Server - Microsoft Remote Desktop Services - Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare Clustered Environments - Enterprise Anti-Virus solutions - Enterprise backup solutions - Veeam, Storage Craft, Datto, Azure Knowledgeable of Enterprise Class Storage Solutions, and Software Defined Storage Working knowledge of HP, Dell, and SonicWall hardware Understanding of 802.1Q VLANS and Traffic Prioritization SOFT SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong written and verbal communication skills Pleasant and professional demeanor in all client and internal communications Independent worker and able to work effectively on daily tasks without direct supervision Strong organization skills and ability to operate efficiently throughout daily tasks In general, owns issues through resolution although understands when to escalate a problem to another team member and whom to escalate to; accepts escalated issues; and mentors when appropriate Demonstrates empathy with users and professionalism at all times Work well with clients at all levels, from executive to IT personnel to end user Operates with client satisfaction in mind Energy, enthusiastic and results-oriented EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor's degree preferred 10 years of relevant IT experience Preferred Certifications o Microsoft Azure Administrator o Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate o SonicWall Network Security Professional (SNSP) WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Use of computer and office equipment Ability to remain calm in stressful situations Performs all administrative functions expected at this level ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to schedule for evening or weekend work occasionally Valid driver's license in your state of residence and reliable personal vehicle Benefits: Competitive salary Relaxed Company Culture Generous Vacation Allowance Health/Dental/Vision Insurance Flu Shots Life Insurance Long and Short Term Disability Insurance Investment in Professional Development Value Recognition and Rewards 9 paid holidays Birthday Paid time off Generous Company 401K 4% Match Company laptop & Cell Phone Team Outings & Events Flexible Work/Life Balance Valued Salary Description $70-$110K BOE
