Senior Staff Accountant:
The Senior Staff Accountant assists in the maintenance of the organization’s general ledger, provides analytical support for the Accounting Department and assumes a lead role for the Staff Accountants. The Senior Staff Accountant also provides technical assistance to users of the accounting system and works closely with management on ways to improve overall operational efficiency. Senior accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update community budgets
Heavy journal entries during month
Purchase agreement gross margin analysis
Help prepare monthly reporting packages
Assist in meeting the monthly closing schedule, including monthly budget updates
Assist in preparation and review of property tax payments, personal property schedules, and G&A analysis
Review and prepare general ledger account reconciliations.
Assist internal and external auditors as needed.
Prepare and process deposits
Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in accounting and finance.
2+ years’ experience in an accounting role
CPA preferred
Real estate and/or construction experience is a plus
Advanced Excel Skills, JD Edwards experience and Essbase/Hyperion a plus
Exposure to fast pace work environment
