Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

We are looking to add a Regional Environmental Program Manager to bolster our commitment to environmental compliance and stewardship. Collaborating closely with our Environmental Compliance team, the chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to all pertinent federal, state, and local regulations.

Our company is a leading player in the construction industry, and we are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Regional Environmental Manager to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all environmental aspects of our construction projects across different regions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our operations comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. This position is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about the environment and has a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit each Division at least once per quarter to walk sites with personnel, review findings and provide guidance. Annual assessment training shall take place at one of the quarterly visits.
  • Review Erosion & Sediment Control Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) contents, and related records to ensure consistency and compliance with policies of the USEPA and/or USACE as well as company policy and objectives
  • Routinely coordinate with Divisions to discuss protected areas, WOTUS and wetland permits and impacts, Threatened & Endangered (T&E) species, etc.
  • Meet with stormwater site inspection companies and Best Management Practice (BMP) companies on an as needed basis. Review contract requirements and execution by land development contractors who are performing BMP installation and maintenance as a part of their contract
  • Review budgets related to erosion control and stormwater management
  • Attend virtual Environmental Compliance Team (ECT) staff meetings every two weeks and provide updates
  • Review environmental and NPDES inspections and act as a liaison to regulatory agencies. Review and facilitate written responses
  • Maintain full understanding and knowledge of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program requirements to ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act (CWA) on a federal, state or local level
  • Maintain full understanding and knowledge of current United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Waters of the United States (WOTUS) regulatory permitting requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the development or environmental sector
  • Proficient in stormwater management, regulatory compliance, NPDES, SWPPP, CPESC, CESSWI, CISEC.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies (state, local, federal)
  • Industry certifications CPESC, CESS
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Certified Professional in Erosion
