We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Materials Planner to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is a critical part of our operations, responsible for managing and optimizing all facets of our materials and inventory management. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a knack for managing complex logistics. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and materials planning. The Permanent Materials Planner will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, procurement team, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the entire materials planning process, from procurement to storage, ensuring optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and adherence to quality standards.
  • Utilize DMS and other materials systems to maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular analyses of inventory, and perform reconciliations as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on all matters related to materials planning, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Manage product transitions, ensuring seamless integration of new materials into existing production schedules.
  • Work closely with the warehouse management team to optimize storage and manage minimum order quantities.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to manage shop flood and other potential disruptions, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, identifying and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Issue and monitor Purchase Orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of supplier lead-time and its impact on production schedules.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in materials planning, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within the Manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience in a related field.
  • Proven experience with vendor and customer service management.
  • Strong knowledge of DMS and other materials management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, including analysis, control, and reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement efforts and implement effective solutions.
  • Solid understanding of warehouse management principles and practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience with production planning and scheduling.
