Job DescriptionOur Lady Star of the Sea Catholic School, a PreK – 8th grade Catholic Liberal Arts School in Bremerton, Washington, seeks a full-time teacher to instruct two middle school math courses and fulfill the role of a math specialist/resource room position. Our Lady Star of the Sea believes that our curriculum inspires students to seek the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. We work to help students better understand their humanity. We are seeking a teacher who will encourage a love of math, inspire wonder about the world, and promote the imitation of virtue.Job Responsibilities

A proven ability to teach and guide students in the Catholic faith.Ability to teach in the classical method or willing to learn this method of instruction.Excellent communication skills with administration, parents, students, and colleagues.Maintain ongoing records of student behavioral and academic progress, documenting concerns, providing feedback to students, and regularly communicating student progress with parents and school administration.Ability to plan and implement lessons for students in the academic subject of math for grades 5th and 6th.Establish clear expectations, procedures, and routines for student behavior in the classroom and reinforce school-wide expectations.Maintain a positive classroom environment centered around virtue.Address student failure to meet expectations academically and/or behaviorally and provide appropriate intervention as needed.Model appropriate participation in daily school prayers and weekly Mass.Desire to work in collaboration with the parents to educate their children.Desire to collaboratively work as part of a team committed to excellent teaching and continued professional development outside school hours.Support the curriculum selected by the administration to provide a thorough liberal arts educational approach.Provide one-on-one support or small group instruction up to three students who need temporary intervention to better grasp a concept and/or provide extended support by adhering to a student’s IEP or Private School Service Plan.Ability to schedule individual students to meet for additional math support throughout the day tracking progression on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of two years teaching experience preferably in a Catholic school.Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Masters preferred.Hold a teaching certificate in WA state/other state or currently working towards one.Be a practicing Catholic willing to pledge fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.Clear a background check and complete safe environment training.

SalaryPart-Time $20,500 - $30,000 Full-Time $41,000 - $60,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
