Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Job Specialty: Emergency Department Job Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Night Shift) Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum 1-year ED experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center (negotiable for strong Level 3 experience) License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, MOAB (strongly preferred), CPI (strongly preferred) Must-Have: Trauma experience is an absolute must. Job Description: - Work in a Level II Trauma Center which receives air flights and serves a large area.- Minimum experience of 1 year in emergency departments, ideally in Level 2 Trauma Centers.- Handle a diverse patient population ranging from Neonate to Geriatric.- Manage patients with high acuity including medical, cardiac, neuro, ortho, trauma, interventional, DKA, sepsis, multi-system trauma, respiratory and renal failure, and mental health conditions.- Respond to common diagnoses such as ETOH, IVDA, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, depression, and anxiety.- Deliver care related to conditions like stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, and heart failure. - Maintain nursing ratios: Main ED 1:4, ED Holding Medical/Surgical 1:5, ICU 1:1-2, Psych 1:6.- Utilize skills in ventilator management, critical care drips/titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care (TNK administration), and conscious sedation.- Assist with US guided IVs (preferred), splinting, and monitoring of drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines (Art lines/CVP).- Participate in a supported unit environment with secretaries, paramedics, psych techs, CNAs, charge nurses, and phlebotomy services.- Use Cerner charting systems with equipment like Alaris, Pyxis, and GE monitors.- No inpatient floating is required; will float between Triage, Psych, Trauma, and Holding as needed.- Follow a potential weekend rotation and adhere to unit holiday expectations as necessary.- Wear professional scrubs of any color. Orientation: Includes three days encompassing NEOS. Note: Scrub colors must be professional.
