Responsibilities

Job Performance

    • Correctly performs all prescribed CT procedures in an efficient
    • Correctly performs all prescribed Radiology procedures in an efficient manner
    • Is able to work independently and critique exams.
    • Demonstrates competency in preparing patients for procedures and the administration of contrast media.
    • Is able to work independently and critique exams.
    • Can navigate working in CT and X-ray during assigned shift
    • Utilizes good judgment to plan effectively and solve problems

Patient Care

  • Provides patient education as needed for exam and ensures all consents and forms are signed prior to exam/procedure as indicated.
  • Demonstrates competence in age appropriate care coordination
  • Obtains and records patient history and interprets physician orders correctly
  • Correctly tracks, orders, and charges exams in an efficient manner
Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of JRCERT approved school for Radiologic Technology with equivalent training and experience as required by the licensing bodies.

Experience: 

  • Clinical Rotation in CT as student technologist.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Must be registered by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and obtain appropriate state licensure from either the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency and/or the Iowa Department of Public Health. *see specific state requirements below.
  • New Technologists, in the State of Illinois, who have not taken the ARRT exams but are registry eligible must obtain a state of Illinois Temporary License and then are required to pass the ARRT boards in Radiography within 90 days of their first day of employment.
  • Pass ARRT CT board exam within 12 months of completing CT orientation
  • New Technologists, in the State of Iowa, must have a current ARRT license in Radiography and an Iowa Department of Public Health license before employment may begin.
  • CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
