Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; University System of Maryland benefits package included.The Department of Nursing at FSU provides a variety of nursing programs and pathways. We offer online and on-campus undergraduate nursing programs, and four graduate nursing concentrations. The Online MSN option builds on the BSN and provides concentrations in nursing administration and education. The Blended MSN option also builds on the BSN as well as the registered nurse's clinical experience providing concentrations in psychiatric and mental health and family primary care nurse practitioners' concentrations.The Department of Nursing is housed in the College of Education, Health and Natural Sciences. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to promoting diversity and have respect for our diverse student population.Responsibilities: Oversight and coordination of the PMHNP concentration, curriculum delivery and design, teaching the PMHNP courses, advising of PMHNP students, and provide administrative support for the concentration in terms of input into policies, procedures, handbooks, catalogs, etc. Maintain accreditation readiness of the concentration as well as support and track national certification of the PMHNP students. It is expected that the individual will also serve at the department, college and university level as well as maintain active practice and devote efforts toward scholarship.The successful candidate will display evidence of leadership skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills. The Department of Nursing is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that thrives on the strengths of each team member. We are looking for individuals interested and experienced in developing innovative and creative teaching strategies, active nursing practice and professionaldevelopment, and playing an active service role in a variety of projects within the department and organization. As the department grows to include a potential doctoral program as well as other undergraduate pathways, we need faculty who are interested and qualified to teach at these levels.This position is available for on-site or remote hire.Minimum Qualifications: Advanced practice graduate nursing degree from an accredited university with two years clinical experience in psychiatric mental health. National certification in a specialty field is required. Unencumbered Maryland licensure (or eligible).Candidates without a doctoral degree in Nursing will come in at the rank of Instructor with the requirement of completing a doctoral degree in nursing or closely related field prior to the tenure review year.Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral Degree (PhD, or DNP) and two years of teaching experience.About the University: A member institution of the University System of Maryland, Frostburg State University is a public, comprehensive, largely residential regional university offering programs in the sciences, education, business, the arts, and humanities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
