OrthoIndyHospital South, located in Greenwood,Indiana, provides outpatient care and inpatient care, with four operatingrooms and a 15-bed inpatient unit for patients undergoing more invasiveprocedures, such as disc replacement, spinal fusion or total hip and knee jointreplacement.Other services include an urgent care, clinics,imaging and physical therapy.General Statement of Duties: The Registered Nurse PAT coordinates and evaluates preoperative screening for assigned patients in a timely fashion. The Registered Nurse established a friendly, efficient, preoperative process for patients having surgery at OrthoIndy Hospital facilities.Essential Duties:Monitors and assesses patient condition and reports any unusual symptoms, occurrences or discrepancies to appropriate Physicians and manager.Provides care safely, with adequate quality, quantity, and timeliness and according to applicable standards. Sets-up, operates and/or monitors the use of various systems, equipment and instrumentation required for the care of patients.Collaborates with Physicians to provide results, review complex or unclear medical information and documents all interactions in EMR. Maintains complete communication with Physician and peers regarding requests and scheduled appointments.Initiates indicated patient care plans. Ensures plan of care reflects the patient needs. Provides instruction, information, and counseling to patients and their families as needed.Obtains complete medical history and retrieves records as indicated. Responsible for daily review of requests, faxes, and completed clearances.Responds to telephone inquiries promptly, screens calls, and provides information to patients and staff as needed.Requirements: Associate's Degree in Nursingrequired; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred from a nationallyaccredited nursing programRegistered Nurse license in the state of Indiana requiredBLS certification required 2-4 years of related experience required, 4-6 years preferred OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
