Vantedge Medical is seeking a Director of Operations which involves implementing efficient processes and practices across the organization. In this role, you’ll formulate strategies, improve performance and ensure compliance. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining compliance, efficiency, and profitability during our business operations.Responsibilities:Ensure Efficient Operations:Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations.Be responsible for factory output and quality.Lead and develop direct reports to create a high-performing, customer-centric operation.Manage LEAN manufacturing programs.Manage the distinct activities of programming, workflow planning, expediting and facilities ensuring achievement of department objectives, and effective manpower planning.Strategic Initiatives:Decisions made are at a high level and will have a significant long-term impact on the success of the company. This generally includes work priorities and manufacturing methods but may also involve implementing long-term company strategies such as facilities and operations strategy.Develop and implement strategic initiatives, including process improvement, supplier development, and outsourcing.Provide an executive overview of all schedules and timelines through effective communication and project management techniques.Provide the leadership necessary to establish a pro-active culture in Machining through the effective use of goal setting, team building, employee empowerment, and communication.Establish the necessary systems and controls to meet our customer’s forecast with quality product, paying particular attention to maximizing customer service.Manage facilities ensuring adequate space for both short- and long-term needs, product and employee safety and security.Manage operations cost reduction effort to ensure company profitability goals are achieved.Highest point of resolution for technical and manufacturing questions within the machining department.Determines manufacturing methodology for the most complex products with the advice and assistance of subordinate staff.Collaboration and Communication:Form a close relationship with the on-site product development team.Support new product development and introductions.Interacts with all functional groups within the organization both in establishing work priorities, advising work status, and developing systems. Interaction is typically at Manager, Supervisor, or Department Lead level, but involvement is at all levels.Compliance and Efficiency:Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective manner.Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.Formulate strategic and operational objectives.Examine financial data to improve profitability.Manage budgets and forecasts.Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.Team Leadership and Development:Recruit, train, and supervise staff.Mentor team members.Find ways to increase the quality of customer service.Requirements / Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, or related field required; preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Manager or in a similar role.Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.Expert in the use of computerized ERP/MRP planning systems and planning concepts including Kanban/DFT.Working knowledge of Solidworks CAD system.Familiarity with Mastercam and/or Esprit programming systems.Familiarity with machining methods for complex medical and high-tech parts and castings.Familiarity with the operation of Vertical and Horizontal CNC machining and turning centers including automated pallet loading systems.Knowledgeable in the use of Mastercam or Esprit.Knowledgeable in CNC controls and controllers.Knowledgeable in machine maintenance.Ability to provide quick and accurate estimates of machining times in support of the estimating activity.Expertise in the selection of tooling and the design of machining fixtures.LEAN and/or Six Sigma techniques required.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams.Strong leadership and organizational skills a must.Familiarity with business and financial principles. Experience in budgeting and forecasting.Note:
